Oh ya, the current administration handled things well, about as well as a bull in a china shop on roller skates.

At 6:30 am this morning I got a text message from my friend Pat who is part of the San Diego Urban Search & Rescue Group. The last time I talked to him was this past Saturday when he was sitting in Houston waiting to be deployed out to a military base somewhere between NOLA and Mississippi.

He is what he said on his message:

"Tell everyone to give their donations specifically for the animals. There are dogs everywhere dieing."

I lost it after seeing that message this morning. I can't imagine having to leave my dogs behind, they're like my kids and to hear about this first hand from a good friend who also has dogs and feels the same way tears my heart to pieces.

So please, in addition to the Red Cross or whatever group you are donating to, if you can, please help the orginizations that are trying to resuce the animals.

originally from [livejournal.com profile] bovil

The day after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Repent America issued a press release. In it, they implied that Hurricane Katrina was a judgement from God on New Orleans, particularly on Southern Decadence, New Orleans' annual queer end-of-summer bash.

Eh, they're just some tiny fringe group, right?

Well, Agape Press, the American Family Association's news service (and nobody can claim that the AFA isn't right in the heart of Christian activism) posted an article misleadingly titled New Orleans Residents: God's Mercy Evident in Katrina's Wake. They don't just imply.

The pastor explains that for years he has warned people that unless Christians in New Orleans took a strong stand against such things as local abortion clinics, the yearly Mardi Gras celebrations, and the annual event known as "Southern Decadence" -- an annual six-day "gay pride" event scheduled to be hosted by the city this week -- God's judgment would be felt.

“New Orleans now is abortion free. New Orleans now is Mardi Gras free. New Orleans now is free of Southern Decadence and the sodomites, the witchcraft workers, false religion -- it's free of all of those things now," Shanks says. "God simply, I believe, in His mercy purged all of that stuff out of there -- and now we're going to start over again."

Last I checked, this isn't what Christianity is about. I thought Christianity wasn't about exploiting human suffering.

Show me that it's not. Take a stand.

Repost this. Don't just link it, copy it and repost it. Ask your friends to repost this. Find out where they really stand when they don't.

You can post a room or search for a room if you or someone you know has been displaced. Most of the offers are in the region, but you can offer housing anywhere.

It's a sad state when someone tries to get back at another person for making a judgement call and they not only make themselves look like an utter ass, but the also make all other parties involved look like they caused the problem as well.

Way to go with your petty selfish thinking.

I have no respect for you after your actions.

Ok ladies & gents...we know that there isn't too much out there for the men in our lives to wear, mostly to wear to the club.

I've been formulating a men's line in my head and I am getting ready to put it on paper and was curious to see what all of you would like to see for men.

I'm going to be focusing mostly on club wear, but will also be doing formal and every day wear as well.

So folks..have at it, what would you like to see available?

[Poll #446220]

EDIT: You can add stuff you'd like to see for women too!

then to butt into my life.

What the fuck is up with people who have nothign better to do than to spread rumors about things they think they know something about?

I hang out on occassion with a male co-worked who is a good friend of mine and suddenly people start thinking that there's something going on between him and I.

I go to a SCA event with a friend of mine, who incidently fought for me, and suddenly people think there's something going on between us.

I go out to dinner with an ex of mine, doesn't mean that we're rekidling our r

Hello!?!?! I do have boyfriend. Just because we don't live together or go everywhere together, doesn't mean that we're aren't a couple.

I don''t care who you are, you could be the fucking king of England and I'd tell you the same thing. Pull your head out of your ass and mind your own fucking business about my life. Especially when you don't have the fucking balls to come talk to me about it.

Do yourself a favor, get a life and stay out of mine, because the last thing you want me to do is address this with you face to face. I won't mince words if I do.
